Creation Equals Movement: The Black Artists Group of St. Louis
Directed by Bryan Dematteis
Creation Equals Movement examines the history and legacy of the Black Artists' Group (BAG), an interdisciplinary collective founded in St. Louis during the Black Arts Movement. Bringing together musicians, poets, dancers, actors, and visual artists, BAG explored new forms of artistic expression while engaging with the social and political realities of the time.
Through archival materials and interviews with former members and collaborators, the film documents the group's artistic contributions, the challenges it faced, and its lasting influence on experimental art and music in St. Louis and beyond.
