The Matthew Galik Trio

The Matthew Galik Trio - Matthew Galik (p), Joe Winstein-Hibbs (d), Eric Stiller (b) - formed during the summer of 2023 as a result of a casual jam session. The three bonded quickly over a shared love of the tradition of melodic lyricism which found an apex of expression in the trios of Keith Jarett and Bill Evans. Over the course of these few years, the group has continued to develop their chemistry through the performance of numerous concerts drawing material from the Great American Songbook, modern jazz standards, Brazilian music, free improvisation, and original works by Matthew Galik. Expect to hear sensitive and adroit improvisers at work, dedicated to making music from a place of flow and honest listening
